A Biffo is Born! .............................Well Almost

Hi Guys and Gal,

Its been a while since I posted anything on the Blog page so here is my current project out of about 20 that I am working on now. It is a Welsh models Bristol Type 170 Mk.32 Bristol Superfreighter in 1/144th scale. I have cut out all the parts and found that the fuselage did not appear to be long enough and being a little stubby.

So I chopped up the fuselage into three sections and inserted two sections to bring the length correct to plan supplied. I also added a former to the nose upper section as a guide when profiling the nose to a more pointed section later.

As can be seen in this photo the wing and tail are ready to be attached, the cockpit windows cut out( oh, what a job, but strangely theraputic) to be glazed later on. The fuselage still needs strips to help it match up but you can see how it goes together in this pic. A lot of filling in balsa, filler and Mr.Surfacer 1000 will be needed as with wings but I WILL get there!

Next job after this photo is to create some basic cockpit detail, seats, control column's, engineer panels, plus some internal fuselge details, ribs, formers etc, then the wings and tail, before adding engine nacelles, wheels and props. I also intend to add a car ramp and some 'N' scale gauge cars to give impression of scale.

I could also do with a nice base, I wonder if Mr.Adrian is reading this(hint, hint).

Comments good or bad please!
